Craft & Blabla, the creative podcast 🎙️
Memories, memories… 🧒
I have some lovely news to share with you: I had the chance to be invited on Craft & Blabla: the creative and lifestyle podcast! 🎉 In this episode, we talk about creative hobbies, childhood memories, and of course… perler beads.
For the occasion, I even created three patterns inspired by millennial culture: a Tamagotchi, a Game Boy, and a Furby. A little nostalgic trip back to the 90s and 2000s!
Before showing you these patterns, I’d love for you to discover this super fun podcast that explores creativity in all its forms. 🎨

The concept is simple and really enjoyable: mixing DIY and chatting, just like a conversation between friends while creating something together.
Twice a month, they share their inspirations, discoveries, and creative favorites. Their idea is to create a cozy moment: you sit down with a cup of tea, take out your creative project… and listen to the episode. 🍵🎧🎧

The episode: childhood creative hobbies 🕹️
In the episode I took part in, we talk about a topic that will surely resonate with many of you: The creative hobbies of our childhood.
For a whole generation (millennials), creativity often started with very simple activities:
- Fuse beads
- Modeling Clay
- Blopens
- Décopatch
- Coloring and crafts
These activities shaped our memories and were often our very first steps into creativity.
During the episode, we talk about 🎙️:
- our blog Mes Perles à Repasser
- the popularity of hama beads
- pixel art and retro vibes
- creativity in children
- and the nostalgia of iconic childhood objects
To make this episode even more fun, I created three exclusive patterns inspired by iconic 90s items—and that’s perfect, because we love pop culture! 👾
Our 3 millennial-inspired patterns 🎮
To go along with this episode, I designed three retro patterns that many of you will instantly recognize.
🩷 Tamagotchi

The Tamagotchi was one of the first portable virtual pets. A small device that became iconic in school playgrounds (on the down low). You had to take care of it like a real little companion: feed it, play with it… and make sure it didn’t get sick! 🐣
Joystick Game Boy

Impossible to talk about the 90s without mentioning the Game Boy. In perler beads, its pixel design is perfect for a retro pattern. This console accompanied a whole generation of gamers with iconic games like… Lemmings!!!
🐯 Furby

With its big eyes and funny face, Furby marked an entire generation of children. This interactive toy could learn words and react to interactions. A mix between a plush toy and a little robot… sometimes a bit surprising!
